The Interim Assistant Director, Adult Future Options, was in attendance to present a report to Committee which provided an update on the Sheffield: Empowering Independence programme, Adult Care and Wellbeing’s Service Transformation Programme within Future Sheffield. The update provided an opportunity for Committee to assess the progress of the programme’s implementation with the strategic partner and offer scrutiny to the programme leads where required.

RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY: That the Adult Health and Social Care Policy Committee:

a.    Note the status update of the Sheffield Empowering Independence programme against planned targets and milestones

b.    Note the delivery to date, including work areas experiencing challenges

c.     Request further updates on progress and risk mitigation as required

The Sheffield: Empowering Independence Programme is a significant part of the Future Sheffield change programme. It embraces the fundamental challenges facing Adult Social Care and its successful delivery will impact directly on the future sustainability of the service.
