Commission of End User Computing (EUC) Service

March 1, 2024 Chief Operating Officer (Officer) Approved View on council website
Full council record

Purpose

The purpose of this report is to seek approval to commission a new End User Computing (EUC) service contract as outlined in this report.

Decision

It is recommended that the Chief Operating Officer:

·       Approves the commissioning of a new End User Computing Service contract from an external provider, for a period of 4 years and for an estimated value of £1.2m, as set out in this report.

Reasons for the decision

It is recommended the council recommissions a new contract to enact efficiencies and value for money by reducing/removing the services no longer required. Alternative options would risk disruption to service and risk to customers, and delays to improvements to the Councils contact channel offerings.  This could prevent key services, including statutory duties from being carried out.

Alternative options considered

Option 1: Do Nothing

This is not an option because the current contract for the services will end on 28th March 2024. As the services are still required, although slightly reduced/amended, a new contract will be required.

Option 2: Modify the current contract to vary services and extend the term.

This is not possible as an extension would take the contract beyond its 5-year maximum duration under the current framework.
