Reasons for Decision

  1. 3.1

‘At a strategic level, people can come together to co-produce how an organisation will work in the future. This might be by creating a plan or strategy, or new laws. Co-production is when people come together as equals and is based on the idea that people who draw on care and support are the best placed to decide how it should work’ (Think Local Act Personal)’ From its inception, it was always agreed that the Learning Disability Strategy would be a live and meaningful document so the delivery plan similarly needs to be agile as we continue to listen to the voices of people with a learning disability and family carers in the city.

  1. 3.2

The Adult Future Options Commissioning team and social work teams will complement the strategic priorities by continuing to work in close partnership. We will also continue with market shaping and relationship building with providers specialising in complex care and property development, to further enhance our offer for people both in and out of area.
