The Committee considered a report of the Executive Director, Neighbourhood Services which set out the achievements made by the Housing Policy Committee in 2025/26, outlined the Housing Policy Committee 2026/27 priorities and outlined key actions required to build on the progress made so far.

RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY:- That the Housing Policy Committee:-

(a)  notes the progress made by the Housing Policy Committee in 2025/26, recognising the work of Elected Members, officers and partners to deliver against our objectives that contribute to strong strategic foundations for the Council; and

(b)  considers and notes the key issues identified in Section 3 of the report as part of the Committee’s forward agenda for 2026/27.

Reasons for Decision

The recommendations support the continued strategic development of the organisation and will enable the delivery of the Council Plan by agreeing the key issues that this Committee needs to address during 2026/27.

Not to set out a forward agenda for 2026/27 – this was rejected as it is important that we set out for citizens the things we want to achieve in the coming year.
