Purpose
The purpose of
this report is to seek approval to commission:
1. A new mobile
phone airtime service for voice minutes, texts and data
2. A contract for the purchase of mobile devices.

Content
It is recommended
that the Chief Operating Officer approves:
1) The commissioning of a new airtime contract for voice minutes,
texts, and data from an external provider for a period of four
years at a total cost of £620,000.
2) The procurement of devices from an external provider for a
period of four years with potential spend of up to
£2,170,000.
3) Centralise the
mobile telephony budget within the DI&ICT service, with the
exception of HRA costs, which will continue to be recharged to the
service.
Reasons for the decision
The current contract for the Councils Mobile
Phone Contract is coming to an end.
Alternative options considered
- Allow the existing contract to time
expire.
- Extend the current contract.
- Insourcing the service.
