Standards Committee

The Standards Committee is responsible for promoting and maintaining the highest ethical standards among councillors and members of parish councils within Slough.

Its core functions include assisting members to adhere to the Council's Ethical Framework and Code of Conduct, advising on its adoption or revision, and monitoring its operation. The committee also handles written complaints alleging breaches of the Code of Conduct, determines appropriate action, and provides training on ethical matters. It reviews the Whistleblowing Policy and Procedure, decides on indemnity requests from members or officers, and receives reports on member conduct complaints and declarations of interest.
