Purpose

To seek approval for the Council to enter into long term
lease agreements for twenty-five homes that will be used for
temporary accommodation.

Decision

(a) 
Approved a pilot
project to acquire up to twenty five (25) residential properties
via a leasehold interest for the use of temporary
accommodation.

 

(b) 
Delegated authority to
the Executive Director of Regeneration, Housing & Environment,
in consultation with the Lead Member for Housing and the Deputy
Leader of the Council and Lead Member for Finance, Council Assets
and Transformation and the Executive Director Corporate Resources,
to:

 
(i) undertake
market testing to identify a suitable partner and contractual
arrangement for the structuring of the acquisition and letting of
properties;
 
(c) 
Noted that a report
will be presented back to Cabinet to make a decision on the
preferred partner, governance structure and contractual
arrangement.
