Purpose

To receive an update on the Council’s medium term
financial plan and emerging direction on the 2026/27
budget.

Noted:
 

(a) 
The progress towards
delivering a full set of budget papers for 2026/27 and a revised
MTFS, as set out in the report.

 

(b) 
The current set of
Budget Risks and Pressures as set out in section 4 and detailed
within Appendix 1.

 

(c) 
That a second phase of
budget proposals for the General Fund will be presented to Cabinet
in February as part of balancing the budget.

 

(d) 
That funding
assumptions will continue to be reviewed and revised up until the
settlement is published in December.

 

(e) 
That detail for the
Capital Programme, Housing Revenue Account and the Dedicated
Schools Grant will be provided at the February Cabinet
meeting.

necessary steps to progress the savings set out in section 5 and
