Purpose

To consider a report seeking approval for the expansion of
Haybrook College.

Decision

(a) 
Agreed that a
conditional capital grant of up to £3.2m (plus £0.3m
that has already been committed/spent under officer delegation) be
awarded to Haybrook College Trust to
deliver the expansion project they have tendered and as shown in
Appendix 1,

 

(b) 
Approved the disposal
of 3,700m2 of land as shown in Appendix 2 and being land adjacent
to Haybrook College at nil value to the
Haybrook College Trust via a standard
academy lease (of the combined area consisting of the College site
and expansion land),

 

(c) 
Delegated authority to
the Executive Director of Children’s Services in consultation
with the Executive Director of Corporate Resources and Lead Member
for Education and Children’s Services, to agree the final
legal documentation to dispose of the land and the final budget for
the Haybrook College expansion project
subject to it being no higher than £3.75m in
total.
