Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Board

To provide overview & scrutiny of the Cabinet Portfolio Holder responsibilities for Adult Social Care and Health and to undertake Health Scrutiny powers as specified in the Local Authority (Public Health, Health and Wellbeing Boards and Health Scrutiny) Regulations 2013. This includes the following activities:   ·  Approve an annual scrutiny work programme to scrutinise matters relating to health, public health and adult social care. ·  To provide overview and scrutiny of the responsibilities of the Solihull Health and Wellbeing Board. ·  Where matters fall within the remit of Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Board and one or more other Scrutiny Boards, to work with the other relevant Scrutiny Board(s) to determine which will assume primary responsibility for the particular issue, and which Scrutiny Board therefore leads on the hosting of the associated agenda item. ·  Receive requests from the Cabinet and/or the full Council to consider specific issues and determine an appropriate response. ·  Where Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Board agree to do so, to respond to consultations by local health trusts and by the Department of Health and Social Care. ·  To receive and where necessary respond to reports from Healthwatch relating to health services in Solihull.
