Scrutiny Committee - Adults, Health and Housing

The Scrutiny Committee - Adults, Health and Housing is one of four overview and scrutiny committees at Somerset Council, responsible for checking and challenging decisions and policies made by the Executive.

This committee focuses on areas including adult social care, mental health services, safeguarding adults, and services for older people. It also scrutinises health services, public health, and referrals from Healthwatch. Additionally, it examines housing matters such as strategy, commissioning, homelessness, affordable housing, and housing development.

The committee plays a role in the oversight and development of these areas, including input on the Medium Term Financial Strategy and budget development.
