The Scrutiny Committee - Climate and Place is responsible for reviewing and challenging decisions and policies made by Somerset Council's Executive concerning climate, environment, sustainability, infrastructure, transport, economy, employment, and planning.
This includes areas such as carbon neutrality, renewable energy, waste management, flood response, highways, public transport, economic development, and planning applications. The committee provides an overview and scrutiny function, offering recommendations and insights on these critical local issues.
