Rodrigues.

Having been duly proposed and seconded, the
Council Resolved to Reject the following recommendations:-

1)
To write to the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and
Communities to outline Somerset’s unique housing pressures
and seek urgent assurances that government-funded migration
accommodation schemes would not come at the expense of housing
provision for Somerset residents.

2)
To affirm its commitment to prioritising Somerset residents for
social and affordable housing wherever legally and practically
possible.

3)
To request that any future government-funded schemes that affected
Somerset housing supply were accompanied by sufficient additional
housing investment in Somerset to ensure local need was not
displaced.
