Decision
Having been duly proposed and seconded, the Executive Resolved that:-
· Following public consultation and further consideration, the Executive Committee agreed to defer the consideration of Sunday parking charges (where there were currently no charges) until the parking policy principles had been formally approved.
· The advertised Parking Places Order would be sealed because it addressed some legacy omissions, but the tariff for Sunday charging within car parks, where charges currently did not apply or were set at a flat rate, would be set to zero or a flat rate respectively.
Reasons for Decision;
The parking policy principles document would provide an overarching framework for managing and delivering on and off-street parking across the authority. Deferring implementation ensured that any changes, including Sunday charges, were fully aligned with the long-term objectives, principles, and priorities set out in the policy. This approach promoted consistency.
