Decision

The Scrutiny Committee Corporate and Strategic considered the Quarter 4 Strategic Risks and High Scoring Tactical and Operational Risks Report and noted the overall position and RESOLVED to support the recommendations. The Committee:

·         Considered and endorsed the current strategic risk profile set out in Appendix B. 

·         Considered the current high scoring tactical and operational risks set out in Appendices C D, E, F, & G (detailed by directorate).

·         Considered that the proposed mitigating actions are adequate and appropriate to address concerns.

·         Considered and did not identify any specific areas for potential scrutiny focus.

The Committee expressed serious concern in relation to bridges and structures, which included the increasing risks associated with environmental factors such as landslips and embankment failures (CPEIT016), and delays to inspection programmes due to resourcing pressures (CPEIT018).
