Decision

The Scrutiny Committee Corporate and Strategic considered the Scrutiny Prioritisation Toolkit, the draft work programme for 2026/2027, and the proposed approach to identifying and prioritising scrutiny activity for 2027/2028 and RESOLVED to endorse the report’s recommendations.

In addition, the Committee requested that:

·         Further consideration be given to the wording of Question 1 (‘Does the issue impact a number of people living in Somerset?’) and Question 3 (‘Is this issue of concern to the residents of Somerset?’) on page 28 of the Prioritisation Toolkit.

·         The Executive’s response to its recommendations be clearly documented and reflected within the outcome tracker.

·         The scheduling of Task and Finish Group meetings be reviewed to support broader Member participation.
