Decision

Councillor Bill Revans proposed the recommendations, which were seconded by Councillor Diogo Rodrigues.

Having been duly proposed and seconded, the Council Resolved to:-

1. Welcome Councillor Dominic Ellison following the recent Frome West by election.
2. Note the revised political balance of the Council, the impact on the existing allocation of committee places and agree the proposed revised allocation of committee places as set out in the report and its appendices;
3. Approve the political group leaders’ nominations for the appointment of the following councillors for the remainder of the 2026/27 municipal year until the next election in May 2027:

                        i.         Leader of Liberal Democrat Group to confirm which committee place to be offered to one of the unaligned councillors to be agreed for allocation by the Council. If either of the unaligned councillors did not take up the offer of the place that was offered then it was further recommended that the Council reallocate that place back to the Liberal Democrat Group.

                       ii.         Councillor Barr to remain on Officer Appeals Committee as an unaligned member of no political group.

1. Note the dispensations for a leave of absence granted to Councillors Trimnell and Slocombe since the last Full Council meeting.
