Decision

The Climate, Environment and Place Scrutiny Committee RESOLVED to:

1. Note the forecast financial position of the Community, Place and Economy Directorate and the forecast overspend reported by officers.
2. Note the budget pressures relating to parking income, planning legal costs, accessible transport services and highways operations.
3. Note the mitigating actions being implemented by officers, including expenditure controls, recruitment controls and service-specific recovery measures.
4. Request that future monitoring reports continue to provide clear information regarding budget assumptions, income recovery performance and mitigation activity.
5. Highlight concern regarding the assumptions underpinning some budget savings and income targets and request continued oversight of financial performance through scrutiny.
