Purpose

The
purpose of this decision is to provide funding for Little Wrens
Forest School to establish their growing project on a piece of land
at Franks Farm in Elsworth. They have access to an unused patch of
land and plan to cultivate fruit, vegetables, and plants while also
creating a space that encourages wildlife.
Through
weekly sessions, children will learn about where food comes from
and take an active role in creating and maintaining the growing
garden. The produce will be shared with the children and their
families, used in cooking activities, and any surplus will be
offered to farm visitors.
The
funding will be used to purchase and install a polytunnel, prepare
the ground, construct raised beds, and acquire essential gardening
tools, seeds, compost, wheelbarrows, and compost bins.
