Purpose

Application ZGJDGWSZ from Melbourn, Meldreth, Shepreth and
Foxton Community Interest Company was received by the Council after
the Community Chest Grant deadline for the March 27 Grants Advisory
Committee (GAC) meeting.  The
application is for funding for a wildflower seed planting project
along the verge at the Link Path between Melbourn Village and
Meldreth Station.

The application requires a decision in advance of the April 25 GAC
meeting since, if granted, there is an opportunity to have the
seeds sewn by volunteers on 5 April 2025. 

Given the location of the project in Melbourn, the vice-Chair of
the Grants Advisory Committee has been consulted on this
occasion.  And after reviewing the
application, the vice-Chair has recommended to the Lead Cabinet
Member for Resources that the grant be approved and funded at the
full amount requested of £750.

The
application will be presented to the April GAC meeting for
information and for completeness.
