Purpose

The
purpose of this decision is to provide funding to Over Primary
School to support the creation of a growing garden. The garden will
enable children to grow a variety of annual vegetables from seed,
such as carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, and lettuce. In addition, the
school plans to grow longer-lasting plants including herbs (basil,
rosemary, mint, and chives) and rhubarb.
The
children will have the opportunity to enjoy the produce they grow,
both at school and by taking it home to share with their families.
The funding will cover the cost of three wooden raised beds,
compost, seeds, bare-root rhubarb plants, and herb
plants.
