Purpose

The Council’s Tenancy
Policy has been reviewed to take into
account Cabinet’s previous decision to no longer offer
fixed term tenancies to its council tenants.
 
The Tenancy Policy sets out the
Council’s approach with regards to the types of tenancies
that will be offered.  Notwithstanding
the withdrawal of fixed term tenancies, all other tenancy types
remain unchanged from the previous policy and meet the legislative
requirements set out in the relevant Housing Acts.
