Purpose
On 29 September 2023 the Grants
Advisory Committee reviewed all Community Chest applications
received between 7 August 2023 and 7 September 2023.
Eight applications were brought
forward in
‘Appendix A’ of the meeting reports pack.
After consideration of these
applications, the Committee recommended to the Lead Cabinet Member
for Resources that:
1.
The Farmland Museum (JNLXLZHX) be approved and
funded at the full amount requested of £1,799.99
2.
Sawston Youth Group (PQRNWJDZ) be approved and
funded at the full amount requested of £1,731.58
3.
Sew Positive (ZHTWSJHB) be approved and funded at
the full amount requested of £2,000
4.
Emmaus Cambridge (FZDBPPQK) be approved and funded
at the full amount requested of £1,800
5.
Brainstrust
(VRGQPVTC) be approved and funded at the full amount
requested of £500
6.
Abington Village Institute (GLCTVTDW) be approved
and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000
7.
Cambridge Past Present & Future (HBCKJJQW) is
not funded but deferred-please see the ‘Other options
considered and reasons for rejection’ section.
8.
Marvell Green Management Company (WZFKKHFR) be
approved and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000

To accept the recommendations
of the Grants Advisory Committee (see above).
In reference to the application
from Sew positive, funding is
provided about the condition that numbers of South Cambridgeshire
residents attending the events are recorded and included in the end
of project evaluation report.
In reference to the application
from Emmaus Cambridge, funding is
provided on the condition that more detail is provided about how
they plan to continue with the project once funding ends and that a
breakdown is provided showing exactly what is included for
£1,800.
In reference to the application
from Brainstrust, funding is
provided on the condition that a specific list of items required
for funding is provided and that this list does not include
publicity costs.
In reference to the application
from 1st Abington Village Institute, funding is provided on the condition that the
applicant complies with any and all regulations that they are
required to comply with.
In
reference to the application from Marvell
Green Management Company, funding
is provided on the condition thatan update is
provided to the committee in 6 months’ time in addition to
the end of project evaluation report.
