Purpose

The
purpose of this decision is to seek agreement for the
adoption of the Sawston and Hauxton Conservation Area Appraisal and
Management Plans.

Content

Accept the recommendations and approve the Sawston and
Hauxton CAAMPs.

Reasons for the decision

The preparation and adoption of the Sawston and Hauxton
CAA and CAMP documents is consistent with the discharge of the
statutory obligations of the Council as LPA for these areas. The
process followed in the preparation of the plans included
consultation and engagement and I am satisfied that the resultant
plans are necessary for the effective preservation and enhancement
of the Conservation Areas of Sawston and Hauxton. 

Alternative options considered

There is the
possibility to adopt, or not to adopt, the appraisals. With respect
to the boundary changes, the options are to leave the conservation
area boundaries as they are, as recommended, or to make changes to
the boundary which are different from those
recommended. 
Consultation with the community has demonstrated there is
support for the preferred approach to both conservation areas and
therefore the other options are not being taken forward.
