Purpose

On 27 August 2026 the Grants Advisory Committee reviewed all Community Chest applications received between 7 July 2026 and 7 August 2026.

5 applications were brought forward in ‘Appendix A’ of the meeting reports pack.

After consideration of the application, the Committee recommended to the Lead Cabinet Member for Healthy Communities that:

1.     Waterbeach and Landbeach Action for Youth (WAY) (RDVFBCSK) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £1,604

2.     St Andrew Church, Wimpole (QTWCZFBT) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000

3.     1st Melbourn All Saints Brownies (DXBDHKBG) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £696.22

4.     Swavesey Squash Club (NVBCWJGX) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000

5.     Caxton Parish Council (HCDMPDQZ) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000.

Decision

To accept the recommendations of the Grants Advisory Committee (see above). With regards to the application from Swavesey Squash Club, funding is approved subject to the condition that grant applications to other funders for the same project are also successful.

Reasons for the decision

The applications were considered in detail by the Grants Advisory Committee and there is sufficient budget available.

Alternative options considered

To reject or vary the recommendations of the Grants Advisory Committee and decide on the level of funding (£0 - £2,000) to be awarded for each or defer a decision if further information is required from grant applicants.
