Purpose

The purpose of this decision is to approve the distribution of the grant from the Homes England funded Community Activation Fund to the applicant Cambridgeshire County Council (Grafham Water) to be awarded £2034.92. This is to support their subsidised paddle sports sessions on Unity Lake. This award is made in accordance with the process for administration of the Community Activation Fund, approved by Cabinet, 16 April 2024, which requires application assessment by a joint Homes England/SCDC officer panel, followed by a COO decision.

Reasons for the decision

The project application fully satisfied the required assessment criteria. However, the funds available are almost depleted hence the reduced amount.

Alternative options considered

Option 1: To refuse the application. This was rejected because the application satisfied the agreed criteria. The application scored highly on officer panel assessment.

Option 2: To approve the full grant amount requested of £7200. This was rejected because the funds available are depleted.
