Purpose

On 24 September 2026 the Grants Advisory Committee reviewed all Community Chest applications received between 7 August 2026 and 7 September 2026.

6 applications were brought forward in ‘Appendix A’ of the meeting reports pack.

After consideration of the application, the Committee recommended to the Lead Cabinet Member for Healthy Communities that:

1.     Bourn Allotment Association (FDJKNNVH) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £1,600

2.     4D Dance CIC (KMMNRDLN) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £612

3.     Bourn Sports Club (ZMVPKCVH) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £809

4.     Foxton Bowls Club (FMFSMSFH) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000

5.     Northstowe Cricket Club (CVVXKFLV) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000

6.     Cambridge Past, Present & Future (VXTHRSNM) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000.

Decision

To accept the recommendations of the Grants Advisory Committee (see above). With regard to the application from Northstowe Cricket Club, funding is approved subject to the condition that the club provides the Council with a detailed progress report within six months.

Reasons for the decision

The applications were considered in detail by the Grants Advisory Committee and there is sufficient budget available.

Alternative options considered

To reject or vary the recommendations of the Grants Advisory Committee and decide on the level of funding (£0 - £2,000) to be awarded for each or defer a decision if further information is required from grant applicants.
