Decision

By unanimous vote, the Committee:

·       Noted the contents of the officer’s report, including:

o   The mandatory statutory changes taking effect on 31 October 2026 relating to the National Scheme of Delegation, and the implications for planning committee delegation across Greater Cambridge. 

o   The cessation of the current Planning Delegation Meetings with effect from 31 October 2026; and 

o   The introduction of a Planning Committee Gateway Meeting, to operate from 1 November 2026, in accordance with the arrangements set out in the officer’s report.

·       Approved the revised November 2026 Greater Cambridge Scheme of Delegation (SoD) attached as appendix 2 to the officer’s report. The updated Scheme of Delegation reflects the National Scheme of Delegation and deals with residual applications and matters not otherwise encompassed by the new regulations.
