Purpose
The purpose of this decision is
to fund Hope Against Poverty CIC a total of £500 through the
Community Growing Small Grant to start a Community Growing Project
in Girton. The funding will be spent on railway sleepers to make
raised beds, seeds and plants, and compost and topsoil. The project
will take place at Histon and Girton Farm in Girton, and they plan
to grow brussels sprouts, cabbages, courgettes, outdoor cucumbers,
tomatoes, and various salad crops. The project will be looked after
by Hope Against Poverty CIC staff and volunteers, and local
residents of Girton will be able to support the Community Growing
Project and help out once the site is ready for visitors. All of
the produce from this project will be shared with those in need
through the Mobile Food Hub run by Hope Against Poverty
CIC.
