The Health & Wellbeing Board is a statutory committee responsible for improving the health and wellbeing of people in South Gloucestershire and reducing health inequalities. It brings together leaders from health, social care, and community organisations to set strategic direction and promote joint working.
The Board assesses local health needs, publishes a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment and a Joint Local Health and Wellbeing Strategy. It also oversees joint commissioning arrangements, including the Better Care Fund, and assesses pharmaceutical service needs. The Board's work informs the development of integrated care strategies and plans, and it reports on safeguarding and health protection.
