Reasons for the decision
The Regulator of Social Housing considers Councillors responsible for ensuring that the Council, in its role as a registered provider, is meeting the regulatory standards set. The purpose of this report is to provide assurance and confidence that the Housing Landlord Service’s arrangements in delivering its landlord responsibilities are robust and subject to ongoing review and improvement. Performance and satisfaction data assists Councillors in scrutinising the service.
Alternative options considered
Do nothing – to not consider information on performance and tenant satisfaction. This option is not recommended as the Regulator of Social Housing expects that Councillors have oversight and scrutiny of the service provided.
