Purpose

The Swainsthorpe Neighbourhood Plan has been published and representations have been invited (in compliance with Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) (Amendment) Regulations 2015) between 10th June and July 22nd 2026. The target audience for this consultation is the community of Swainsthorpe as well as a range of stakeholder bodies that have previously been consulted in the development of the Neighbourhood Plan.

Decision

To approve South Norfolk Council's response to Swainsthorpe Neighbourhood Plan publication.

Reasons for the decision

South Norfolk Council is one of the stakeholder bodies that have previously been consulted, meaning that it is within the rights of the Council to issue a representation at this publication stage, if it is deemed appropriate.

Alternative options considered

South Norfolk Council could decline to respond to the consultation, or certain comments proposed could be withdrawn before submitting a response. However, it is felt that each of the comments proposed suggests a way of improving the suitability and value of the Neighbourhood Plan.
