Agreements with Henley-on-Thames, Thame and Wallingford Town Councils to provide financial support for the existing CCTV schemes

Purpose

To enter into an agreement with each of the
following town councils for contributions towards the running cost
of the public space town centre CCTV schemes: Henley-on-Thames,
Thame and Wallingford.

Decision

To enter
into a contract with Wallingford Town Council for the
contribution towards running costs of the public space town centre
CCTV scheme.  The contract runs for a
period of five years with the option to extend the contract for a
further two years and can be terminated by either party following
12 month’s written notice.

Wallingford Town Council will contribute one third of the total
operating costs for the scheme covering the town centre. The
district council’s revenue costs for the Wallingford town
centre CCTV cameras are estimated to be £32,000 for
2024-25.
 
Wallingford Town Council will
be responsible for covering all capital and revenue costs
associated with any CCTV cameras that are added to the scheme at
their request and belong entirely to Wallingford Town
Council.
 
To enter
into a contract with Thame Town Council for the contribution
towards running costs of the public space town centre CCTV
scheme.  The contract runs for a period
of five years with the option to extend the contract for a further
two years and can be terminated by either party following 12
month’s written notice.

Thame Town Council will contribute one third of the total operating
costs for the scheme covering the town centre. The district
council’s revenue costs for the Thame town centre CCTV
cameras are estimated to be £38,000 for 2024-25.
 
Thame Town Council will be
responsible for covering all capital and revenue costs associated
with any CCTV cameras that are added to the scheme at their request
and belong entirely to Thame Town Council.
 
To enter
into a contract with Henley-on-Thames Town Council for the
contribution towards running costs of the public space town centre
CCTV scheme.  The contract runs for a
period of five years with the option to extend the contract for a
further two years and can be terminated by either party following
12 month’s written notice.

Henley-on-Thames Town Council will contribute one third of the
total operating costs for the scheme covering the town centre. The
district council’s revenue costs for the Henley-on-Thames
town centre CCTV cameras are estimated to be £42,000 for
2024-25.
 
In addition, Henley-on-Thames
Town Council will cover all capital and revenue costs associated
with the three CCTV cameras in Mill Meadows. These cameras belong
to the town council but are managed within the district
council’s CCTV scheme.
