Purpose

In March 2026, SYMCA accepted £1.5m funding (as part of Integrated Settlement) for the delivery of Wave 7 Skills Bootcamps, from April 2026 to September 2027.

SYMCA has used the existing Skills Bootcamps framework to run mini competitions for 5 Lots (Digital, Green Skills, Construction & the Built Environment, Business & Admin Services, and Creative), with delivery to commence in August 2026.

Following a scoring and evaluation process, directed by the SYMCA Procurement Team, we intend to award Wave 7 Mini Competition contracts against the above Lots to the Learning Organisations set out in the attached Appendix A.
 

Decision

Award contracts to the Learning Organisations listed in Appendix A, covering off the original 5 Lots included in the Skills Bootcamps Framework, under delegated authority to the Executive Director of Growth, Business and Skills.

Alternative options considered

1-Procure and deliver Wave 7 in line with the original Framework of 5 Lots. - Preferred option.
2-Procurement against a new set of Lots entirely, without continuing with existing Lots. - Rejected, as funding for Wave 7 has been considerably reduced, hence makes more sense to continue on with original 5 Lots.
