Purpose

The Mayoral Delivery Fund (MDF) is a three-year investment fund of £16.675m designed to support the delivery of the Mayor’s manifesto commitments across several MCA portfolio areas.
The MCA Board at its meeting on 24th June 2025 agreed delegated authority for onward approval.
In late 2025, an internal Assistant Director for Narrative and Place Brand was appointed to take the work forward for an initial 2-year funded period. This formed Part A and B of the initial Project Initiation Document (PID), where £0.461m revenue was approved by the 25 October 2025 Investment Board to fund the role and deliver a narrative and brand, complete with guidelines ready for usage.
This PID fulfils the agreed requirement to return to the Investment Board for approval of funding for Activation, Implementation, and the formation of a team to continue delivering beyond the initial 2-year funded period (Part C). This would bring the total SYMCA investment to £3.585m.
On 19 August 2026 the SYMCA Investment Board recommended full approval.
