About

The Chipperfield Advisory Committee is an advisory body appointed by Southampton Council under the Local Government Act 1972. Its primary role is to identify, manage, and resolve conflicts of interest arising from the Council's dual capacity as a corporate entity and Trustee of the Chipperfield Bequest.

The committee makes recommendations to the Council on matters such as the ownership of art acquisitions, the apportionment of gallery expenses, the use of admission fees, and intellectual property rights. It also advises on the expenditure of Trust funds for art acquisitions, insurance, fundraising, and the development of an Arts and Heritage Collections Policy.
