Council’s Access to Information
Procedure Rules.

(i)
To approve the Admissions Policies, the Published Admission

  Numbers (PANs)
and the Supplementary Information Form (SIF)    for Community and
Voluntary Controlled schools and the       schemes for
coordinating Infant-Primary, Junior and Secondary       admissions for the
school year 2027/28 as set out in appendices    1 to 6.
(ii)

    Court or
Ombudsman decisions whenever they arise.

Reasons for the decision

This report is submitted for consideration as
a General Exception under paragraph 15 of the Access to Information
Procedure Rules in Part 4 of the City Council’s Constitution,
notice having been given to the Chair of the relevant Scrutiny
Panel and the Public.

Due to reorganisation of responsibility for
education services within the City Council, the required notice
period for publication on the forward plan was missed. It is
required for this to be considered as an urgent decision, rather
than held over to later Cabinet meetings, to adhere to the
statutory duty for admission authorities to determine their
admissions arrangements by 28th February in the determination year,
which for 2027/28 entry is 2026.

Alternative options considered

To take no action. Rejected as would leave
Southampton City Council remiss in its statutory duties.
