About

The Place Overview & Scrutiny Committee scrutinises the Executive's delivery of council plans affecting Southend-on-Sea's amenities, infrastructure, economy, and community services.

It holds the Executive to account on a wide range of areas including regeneration, tourism, environmental issues like air quality and waste management, planning, highways, public protection, leisure, libraries, and housing. The committee also examines community safety and crime and disorder issues, excluding domestic violence and youth offending.
