Purpose

Approves implementation of
parking bays for e-bikes and e-scooters

Decision

 

That the implementation of 150 parking bays for
e-scooters and e-bikes at the locations detailed in Table 1 and
Table 2, by way of orders made under the Road Traffic Regulation
Act (“1984 Act”), subject to the outcome of any
necessary statutory consultation and procedures, be
approved.

 

That officers be instructed to make the necessary
permanent Traffic Management Orders (“TMOs”) in
accordance with sections 6, 45, 49 and 124 of the 1984 Act subject
to statutory consultation carried out pursuant to the Local
Authorities Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales)
Regulations 1996 (“1996 Regulations”).

 

That officers be authorised to exercise discretion as to whether or
not to hold a public inquiry in the event objections are received
related to the proposed TMO following statutory consultation
pursuant to Regulation 9(1) of the 1996 Regulations. 

 

 That it be noted
thatin the event objections to the proposed
permanent TMOs are received following statutory consultation, a
further report will be presented to the Cabinet Member for
determination on whether to proceed with the making of the
TMO.
