Decision
1.
That the additional funding to Voluntary and
Community Sector (VCS) organisations to provide holistic support to
Ukrainian households and hosts living in Southwark as part of the
Homes for Ukraine Scheme be approved.
2.
The total funding will amount to £260,000 and
covers:
a)
The establishment of a small grants scheme worth
£100,000 to increase the capacity of VCS groups to provide a
range of support services to the Homes for Ukraine guests and hosts
in Southwark.
b)
Telephone and online wrap
around support for hosts and own language support and mediation
service for Ukrainian guests to help deal with issues that arise
from the sponsoring relationship provided by Refugee Host Support
at a cost of £70, 000 for 1 year.
c)
Community integration support
via drop in sessions, language café, social activities and a
dedicated youth group provided by St Barnabas Church at a cost of
£20,000 for 1 year.
d)
Support to help improve
guests’ knowledge of the English language and build up their
employability skills provided by Groundwork London at a cost of
£40,000 for 1 year.
e)
Mental health support to
Ukrainian guests in the form of awareness raising sessions and
individual and group counselling sessions provided by South East
London Mind at a cost of £30,000 for 1 year.
