Decision
1.
That the motor vehicle road closure at Sturdy Road
at its junction with Gordon Road and the associated works
implemented by way of powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984 (“RTRA”) and the Highways Act 1980 (“1980
Act”) in order to facilitate the Consort Park and Dr Harold Moody Park Masterplan
Project, be approved.
2.
That the Equality Impact Assessment
(“EIA”) prepared for the purposes of the Masterplan
project (see Appendix 2), be
considered.
3.
That officers be instructed to make the necessary
Traffic Management Order (“TMO”) in accordance with
section 6 and 124 RTRA subject to statutory consultation
carried out pursuant to the Local Authorities Traffic Orders
(Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 (“1996
Regulations”).
4.
That it be noted
that in the
event objections are received following statutory consultation a further report
will be presented to the cabinet member in order for him determine
whether to proceed with the making of the TMO.
5.
That officers be authorised to
exercise discretion as to whether or not to hold a public inquiry
in the event objections are received
related to any of the proposed TMOs following statutory
consultation pursuant to Regulation 9(1) of the 1996
Regulations.
