Purpose
To consider responses to the experimental
traffic order
Decision
1.
That the 46 responses received
in relation to the experimental traffic arrangement at the
Gilkes Place/Gilkes Crescent junction be considered and the
recommendations made by highways officers regarding the future of
the scheme.
2.
That officers be instructed to make the traffic management order
required to make the closure of the junction to vehicular traffic
permanent.
3.
That it be
noted that a further report will be brought to the cabinet
member should objections be received, that officers are unable to
resolve, during the statutory consultation stage planned for the
permanent traffic orders.
4.
That it be noted that the
scheme supports the council’s Streets for People Strategy
(“SfP”) (approved by
Cabinet in July 2023) aspirations.
