Purpose

To
approve the implementation of an experimental prohibition of motor
vehicles on Ryedale, and to instruct officers to make the necessary
Experimental Traffic Management Order.

Decision

1. 
That the cabinet member for
clean air, streets and waste approves the implementation of an experimental
prohibition of motor vehicles on Ryedale, comprising
of:
 

A modal filter on
Ryedale between Underhill Road and Balchier Road

Proposed one way
system on Balchier Road with right
turn only into Dunstan’s
Road

Proposed one way
system on Cornflower Terrace with right turn only into
Dunstan’s Road
 

2. 
That officers be
instructed to make the necessary Experimental Traffic Management
Order (“ETMO”) in accordance with sections 6, 9, 94,
122 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act (“1984
Act”) subject to statutory consultation carried out pursuant
to regulation 22 the Local Authorities Traffic Orders
(Procedure)(England and Wales) Regulations 1996 (“1996
Regulations”).

 

3. 
That it be noted that in the event objections are received
during the experimental order, a further report will be presented
to the cabinet member in order to
determine whether to proceed with making the TMO
permanent.
