Purpose

To approve a funding extension

Decision

That  a 12-month
extension of funding for Kineara to continue its Private Rented
Sector (PRS) housing support for newly recognised refugees at the
weekly St Giles Housing Surgery, be approved.

 

That it be agreed that this extension will run
from October 2025 for one year.

 

That it be agreed that the core grant amount will
be £53,500 sustaining a dedicated full-time housing support
practitioner and associated project costs.

That
a flexible PRS access fund of
£50,000 to Kineara be allocated as part of this grant, to be
administered directly by Kineara. This fund will cover up-front
client housing costs – such as holding deposits, security
deposits, and first month’s rent – enabling rapid
securing of private tenancies without awaiting council payment
approvals.
