The Cabinet of Southwark Council approved recommendations regarding the future of Marie Curie House on 02/12/2025.

The Executive Member for Inclusive Economy, Equalities & Democracy approved the award of £14,500 of grant funding from the Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy allocation for one project as part of the Thriving High Streets Round 3 on 30/07/2026. This included additional funding for the Walworth Christmas Lights project, with Architecture for Kids CIC becoming the accountable body.

The Strategic Director of Environment, Sustainability and Leisure approved the award of a contract to Baystar Ltd for decarbonisation works at Surrey Docks Fitness and Watersports Centre for up to £908,717 on 01/07/2026. The Strategic Director also approved the award of a contract to Alternative Heat Ltd for decarbonisation works at Castle Leisure Centre for £2,911,268.86 on 17/07/2026. These decisions involved the removal of existing gas-fired heating systems and the provision of low-carbon energy systems, including water source heat pumps and air source heat pumps.
