Purpose

To launch an external grant
fund from within the Climate Capital Fund, to support nature
recovery in the borough

Decision

1.
  That a time-limited grant
fund for not-for-profit groups to deliver biodiversity enhancements
in the borough, for capital projects from 2025 onwards be
approved.
 
2.   That it be agreed that
the total grant funding amount will be
£500,000, drawn from the £1m Climate
Capital Fund budget allocated for biodiversity
enhancements by Cabinet in July 2022 – a summary of the
scheme is included in paragraphs 8-26 of the report. The remainder
of this funding will continue to be allocated for internal council
projects to deliver biodiversity
enhancements.
