To proceed to contract award on a local
service tender. Summary details are as follows:

• Tender LS0030 Tamworth – Birch Coppice local bus
service. This is a replacement service following withdrawal of the
existing commercially operated service.
• Funding entirely from existing Staffordshire County Council
budget
• Contract is for 2 years.
• Tender was for 100% price. The tender was offered as three
separate lots (Monday – Friday, Saturday, Sunday) with an
option to offer a package bid
• 3 bids were received: Arriva Midlands North Ltd, Carolean
Coaches Ltd, Diamond Bus Ltd. All three also offered package
prices.
• Diamond Bus package bid was the cheapest, costing
£310042.80 over 710 operating days, so was awarded
