To proceed to contract award on a local
service tender. Summary details are as follows:

• Tender LS0036 Moorlands Connect Demand Responsive Transport
bus service.
• Funding entirely from government Bus Grant funding and falls
within the forecasted spend provided to Department for Transport.
No funding required from Staffordshire County Council
• Contract is for 2 years with option to extend for a further
year
• Tender was for 100% price.
• 2 bids were received: Ashbourne Community Transport and
Aimees Travel
• Ashbourne Community Transport bid was for £1,280,000
over 3 years (including the optional extension as authorisation
value levels include any extensions)

Alternative options considered

Two bids received through standard tender
process. Service is an existing service already funded by
government Bus Service Improvement Plan funding, approaching end of
contract. Not continuing would leave a large area of Staffordshire
Moorlands disadvantaged through loss of their only public
transport.
