Full council record
Purpose
To agree to enact the optional extension to a
Local Service Bus Contract
Content
Bus route X12 operates between Lichfield and
Burton upon Trent 7 days a week. In 2022 Staffordshire County
Council received a £600,000 Section 106 contribution from
Roman Heights development in Streethay to procure a local bus
service. This requirement was tendered through the standard council
processes and awarded to a bid that involved diverting existing
route X12 to serve the Streethay estate. The original contract was
for a period of three years, with option to extend to 5 years.
Since then, the cost of providing the service has increased, and
the contract price has been increased from £331,49 per day to
£407.92 per day. To date the difference has been funded from
the government Bus Grant. The decision required is for the
enactment of the optional two year extension.
