Decision

The Area Committee has
considered the outcome of a desktop study of the parking
availability on Elmfield Drive, Marple
following a petition from residents in relation to the introduction
of a Residents Permit Parking Scheme, and has agreed that the
Director of Place Management be requested to contact Rose Hill
Primary School to discuss the possibility of introducing a School
Street; to review the school’s travel plan; and to raise
issues of concern and welfare for pupils using the Elmfield Drive entrance to the school and whether
there are any other alternatives that can be used/ trialled.

Alternative options considered

To give approval to an
allocation of £4,000 from the Area Committee’s
Delegated Budget (Marple North ward allocation) to enable
consultation and further investigation in relation to the
introduction of a residents permit parking scheme.
